It’s a beautiful day here in Vancouver, Canada! Just decided to start a blog about some of my experiences so far with the raw vegan diet. I have been advancing towards being a 100% raw vegan for about 5 months now. I’m not worried if I’m always 100% raw. I just get back on track when I slip and eat some cooked food. But not because I feel guilty. It’s because I’m starting to feel better and better all the time (with the higher percentage of raw foods that I consume).
Currently I average about 90-95% raw food. But that is because most of the time I am at home. When family or friends visit I’ve been eating a bit of cooked food. I do less of that over time because of the way eating raw makes me feel, and because I really don’t worry about what anyone thinks of what I eat.
I am naturally slim with a fast metabolism. But I was having several health challenges over the past few years. Including cervical cancer. Which I have no fear of now! I am still progressing and going through lots of detoxification much of the time. I have read some peoples’ descriptions on detoxification, and mine is on the rougher end. But I keep trying, and I feel good about eliminating all those toxins!
Years ago I was in a serious head on car accident. Had a lot of surgery done, and so I’ve been exposed to heavy amounts of drugs. For over 10 years I was taking anti-inflammatories with increasingly frightening side effects. Was coughing up blood more and more, and my days were so unclear and fuzzy. Currently I take herbal anti-inflammatories and I’ve been able to cut those down to half the amount so far since advancing on this raw food diet.
Well I intend to blog a few of my recent experiences and future experiences on here over time. I am sooo excited to be on this journey!
